Reasons Why We Love Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is a special day to support the small businesses in your local community (or online!) and celebrate what small businesses do for our communities.
Here are four reasons why you should consider “shopping small” on November 26, 2022:
- According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses have produced 12.9 million new jobs over the past 25 years. That’s two out of every three jobs! Chances are, you or someone close to you works for or owns a small business.
- In 2021, 51 million shoppers took part in shopping Small Business Saturday. And as they say, “that’s a lotta dough” going back into the economy!
- Whether it’s retail or restaurants, many small businesses are more than just a business. Many play a significant part in their community as a safe gathering place, a hub where people meet and exchange ideas, teenagers learn the value of hard work, and much much more. Can you remember a place from your hometown or your childhood that means more to you than just a retail store or a restaurant?
- Every little bit helps, so your local small businesses will be thankful no matter how you can show your support. Even if you can’t support local small businesses by purchasing a service or product, there are other ways to help! You can leave positive online reviews to help others find the business or spread the word in your networking, social, or religious groups.
Remember to make shopping small on Small Business Saturday part of your new holiday tradition. We personally know several small business owners that will thank you for it.
